Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit a highly committed employee for the position of Human Resource Superintendent - Operational Readiness (Fixed Term) to join the versatile Expansion Project Department. We are in search of an individual who can champion Barrick's DNA by:

With a focus on Operational Readiness, you will serve as the key link between the project owners’ team and HR operations and will ensure effective workforce planning for the commissioning and continued operations of each project package/sub-project. Working closely with departmental managers and operational HR teams to co-ordinate manpower planning to meet resource requirements for commissioning and continued operations. This will include transitional management of employees where applicable, internal movement within the departments, talent acquisition and applicable training plans to ensure the smooth commissioning and operational readiness. Additionally, you will be responsible to ensure that the project’s human capital needs are met efficiently, promoting a productive and compliant work environment.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
Manage and Co-ordinate the integrated operational readiness manpower plan with the Departmental management. Working closely with the Operational Readiness Manager to ensure resource readiness by coordinating with the departmental management on integrated and co-ordinated manning, on-boarding and training plans to meet the commissioning schedule. Manage the operational readiness manpower plans to schedule and mitigate any risk by identifying and resolving any matters that may impact the commissioning schedule. Develop and track an integrated operational readiness training plan with the departmental Management and L&D for required training programs to meet the competency requirements for operational readiness and ensure smooth commissioning of the various project packages. Lead HR activities for assigned projects, including recruitment, onboarding, training, and deployment of project personnel. Manage employee relations, resolve conflicts, and maintain positive engagement among all stakeholders of the project readiness process. Coordinate with health, safety, and security teams to promote a safe working environment. Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR documentation and reporting for project audits and reviews. Implement HR policies and procedures tailored to project needs and support change management initiatives. Facilitate communication between project contractors, owners teams and corporate HR functions. Oversee HR Management functions within the projects scope when required to ensure continuity of service deliveryTo be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
Grade 12 certificate Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field Minimum 5 years of proven experience in HR Management within project driven environment preferable mining industry. Experience in operational readiness, project commissioning and/or organizational development will be highly advantageous Member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management Strong Knowledge of Zambian labor laws and employment regulations Proficiency in HRIS software and Microsoft Office applications Leadership and team management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information Problem-solving skills with attention to detailWhat We Can Offer You:
