**Your Opportunity**
The role of the Geologist is to perform tasks and assignments associated with geotechnical and geological assessments, hydrogeological studies, subsurface investigations; sampling of soil, sediment, surface water, and groundwater; data interpretation/evaluation and deliverable preparation.
**Your Key Responsibilities**
The selected candidate will:
+ Oversee advancement of soil and rock borings, including installation of groundwater monitoring wells and other downhole instrumentation.
+ Prepare soil boring log and well construction diagrams.
+ Perform site inspection of earthwork during construction.
+ Conduct field inspections and assessments of geohazards, such as landslides, rockfall, and abandoned mining features.
+ Learn and follow standard operating procedures for work assigned.
+ Demonstrate ability to analyze field and technical data.
+ Draft technical reports.
+ Complete applicable company and client required health & safety training (including OSHA required training) and follow health & safety policies and procedures.
**Your Capabilities and Credentials**
The ideal candidate will have:
+ The ability to effectively communicate project status to project manager and appropriate staff.
+ Strong technical writing skills.
+ Be an advocate for health, safety, and clients.
+ A working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
+ A valid driver's license and good driving record.
+ The ability and willingness to travel regionally, but mostly in Ohio, Indiana, and West Virginia up to 50 percent of time.
+ Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug and alcohol screening.
+ Working knowledge of field sampling techniques.
**Education and Experience**
+ A Bachelor’s or Associate degree in geology or related field.
+ 0-3 years of geotechnical consulting industry experience.
