Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Project Engineer (Saudi National) to join our team!
What You’ll Be Doing:
Civil Engineering and Quality Assurance:
Oversee and supervise civil engineering works related to airport infrastructure including runways, taxiways, pavements, drainage, earthworks, and utilities.
Review construction methods, materials, and workmanship to ensure compliance with design drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
Document and report any non-conformances and coordinate corrective actions with contractors and project managers.
Field Engineering and Technical Support:
Provide on-site engineering support during construction, including interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and resolving field issues.
Liaise with design engineers, consultants, and contractors to clarify technical requirements and address challenges.
Support testing, commissioning, and handover of civil infrastructure components to ensure functional compliance.
Project Coordination and Communication:
Coordinate daily with contractors, subcontractors, and consultants to align civil works with project schedules and milestones.
Participate in site coordination meetings, progress reviews, and inspections with project stakeholders.
Ensure clear and consistent communication of technical information across multidisciplinary teams.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
Promote and enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations on-site.
Identify potential hazards and ensure civil works are performed in accordance with safety best practices.
Support development and implementation of risk mitigation plans related to civil engineering activities.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of site inspections, quality checks, punch lists, and work progress.
Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports documenting work status, challenges, and resolutions.
Review and approve civil method statements, inspection test plans (ITPs), and material submittals.
Leadership and Team Oversight:
Supervise and mentor junior engineers and site inspectors, ensuring high standards of technical performance.
Provide guidance to field staff on inspection protocols, construction procedures, and project requirements.
Foster a collaborative team environment focused on quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
Compliance with Industry Standards and Regulations:
Ensure works align with relevant international codes and airport standards (e.g., ICAO, FAA).
Stay updated on changes in civil engineering standards and best practices related to airport infrastructure.
Review contractor compliance with airport authority and aviation regulatory requirements.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
Experience:
Minimum 8 years of experience in civil engineering roles, with a strong emphasis on construction and inspection in large infrastructure projects.
Proven experience with airport/airfield projects or similarly complex environments.
Skills & Knowledge:
In-depth knowledge of civil engineering disciplines, including earthworks, pavements, drainage, concrete, and utilities.
Strong understanding of engineering drawings, technical submittals, construction documentation, and QA/QC procedures.
Familiarity with inspection tools, project management software, and reporting practices.
Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
Ability to work in high-pressure environments and make timely, in
formed decisions on-site.
What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:
Certification in civil inspection or QA/QC (e.g., PMP, PE, ISO certifications).
Experience with BIM, AutoCAD, or Revit for field verification and coordination.
Knowledge of international airport infrastructure standards (ICAO, FAA, ASTM).
Experience working with government or military aviation infrastructure is an advantage.
Fluency in written and spoken English; additional language skills (e.g., Arabic) are a plus.
