W.T. Byler, a Quanta Services Company, is looking for experienced Project Engineers / Assistant Project Managers with a Heavy Civil background to join our team in the Houston, TX area.
Initially, this position would be on a project in Cameron, LA but this position would need to be able to travel.
As a Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager (APM) you will be the Project Manager’s “right hand,” steering day-to-day execution so crews, subcontractors and suppliers stay aligned with W.T. Byler’s safety culture, budget targets and aggressive schedules. Implement and maintain WT Byler corporate and Client procedures and standards to facilitate successful project execution.
What You'll Do Progress and quantity tracking, including field verification of installed quantities.Implement and manage RFI and submittal processCoordinate with corporate QA/QC to assure implementation of and compliance to quality standards and specificationsVerify and track material delivery quantities and coordinate material testing per project requirementsCoordinate procurement and purchasing as neededComplete client required weekly reports and daily internal reports (e.g., daily field activity report, daily headcount, equipment and workforce summary)Assist site manager with resource allocation to facilitate schedule adherenceAssure accurate WBS coding of labor and materials for cost tracking purposes What You'll Bring 5+ years of construction experience required (management or supervision); civil construction preferredProficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel)Ability to multi-task and balance multiple deliverables and prioritiesStrong communication skillsHigh school graduateAbility to travel for extended project assignmentsMust be able to pass pre-employment drug test, background check and physical#LI-DG1
