The Project Engineeer will support cross-functional engineering initiatives and help drive a high-performance operational culture in a plant that features conventional and additive manufacturing processes. The successful candidate will (1) bring a project management skillset to assist the General Manager and Operations Manager with driving productivity; (2) pull together part quality documentation in parallel with manufacturing to aid in putting together part quality packages that will allow more time for inspectors to inspect parts; and (3) manage the environmental, health and safety and 6S sectors of the plant, promoting safe work practices and ensuring the facility is in regulatory compliance. This is an exempt salaried position reporting to the General Manager.
Role requires the ability to obtain a Secret clearance or higher.
API plant operations are conducted Mondays through Thursdays.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Partner with all departments to champion engineering best practices that will improve daily efficiency, processes, throughput, defect reduction, and continuous improvement initiativesLead and coordinate engineer projects throughout the full lifecycle of a partDevelop and maintain project documentation, including schedules, technical reports, risk registers, and configuration controlCoordinate qualification and validation activities for both conventional and additive manufacturing processesFacilitate continuous improvement eventsPull together part quality documentation in parallel with manufacturing to aid in putting together part quality packages that will allow more time for inspectors to inspect partsSupport quality audits and customer quality requirements across assigned programsManage the environmental, health and safety, and 6S segment of the plantProvide support and guidance for operations in safe workplace procedures, OSHA compliance, safety training, emergency response, hazards identification, and hazardous material managementDrive 6S activities to reduce scrap, improve process flow, within engineering and production workspaces, ensuring consistency, audit readiness, and team engagementOther duties as assigned
