Job Title: Project Engineer
Job Description

Join our innovative and dynamic Phoenix office as a Project Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in contributing to the success of our team. You will assist with project management, business development, and staff development, focusing primarily on solid waste management projects. These projects include landfills, solid waste facilities, composting, and more, requiring expertise in design, planning, engineering, permitting, construction, and operations support. This position offers potential for a hybrid work setting.

ResponsibilitiesApply intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering and scientific principles and practices in civil engineering assignment areas and related fields.Ensure that projects are designed and delivered to meet client goals.Deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget.Oversee and develop lower-level staff to advance their knowledge and career paths.Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and develop detailed project plans to track progress.Manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs.Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, reports, and permit applications.Make independent decisions on engineering or scientific problems and methods, plan and coordinate work, and represent the company at meetings and conferences.Perform fieldwork in varied terrain and weather, including surveys/data gathering, CQA liner installations, and inspections.Conduct office-based tasks such as CAD drafting, mathematical calculations, report writing, creating site plans and facility diagrams, and permit applications.Engage in business development activities including proposal preparation, client meetings, and attending industry-related conferences and trade shows.Receive technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans or projects.Essential SkillsCivil engineering experience.Civil consulting experience.Civil 3D experience.Drainage experience.Grading experience.E.I.T certification.Project management skills.Construction management, permitting, and report writing experience.Additional Skills & QualificationsAt least 5 years of civil engineering experience.At least 5 years of civil consulting experience.At least 5 years of drainage experience.At least 5 years of grading experience.Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Construction, Geotechnical, or similar Engineering.Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.Relevant solid waste and landfill engineering experience, including landfill gas management, landfill design, and permitting is a plus.Construction management, oversight, observation, or testing experience is a plus.Relevant technical and permit writing experience.Holding a PE license is a plus.Work Environment

This hybrid position requires in-office presence at least once a week. You will be part of a team of about 10 engineers supporting work in Phoenix. Expect to spend 50% of your time in the office and 50% in the field. The role requires the ability to lift 50 pounds and walk through rough terrain weekly. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tempe, Arizona.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $45.67/hr.
