Project Engineer

We are seeking a Project Engineer to support a major LNG project in Lake Charles, LA, on-site position for initial 1-year assignment with extensions.
Summary:
The Project Engineer (PE) will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing projects and interfacing with contractors that support the conversion of project’s import regasification facility to a world-scale export facility. The PE will support a variety of projects including pipeline and utility relocations, marine dock work, fit for purpose inspection and testing oversight for repurposed infrastructure within the existing LNG regas facility, and LNG tank work. The PE will play a key role as part of the Owner’s team and report directly to a member of the Project Management Team. This role requires strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and implement detailed project execution plans, budgets, and schedules. Manage project planning, scoping, bidding, execution, and close-out. Manage project schedules, budgets, and progress. Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met. Provide technical guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure all work complies with project and industry specifications, standards and regulations. Identify and resolve issues that arise during project execution. Maintain accurate project documentation, including reports, drawings, and specifications. Communicate project progress and updates to stakeholders and management. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.) or related field. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the oil and gas industry, preferably in the LNG or gas processing sector. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Proven track record of managing contractors and consultants, including contract negotiation, change management, and contractor performance management (cost, schedule, progress). Ability to develop, coordinate and control multiple processes and projects simultaneously, providing timely support and direction where needed. Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively and accurately convey detailed and complex information to a variety of audiences. Proficiency in Microsoft's suite of tools and software (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams). Knowledge and understanding of scheduling software (e.g., Primavera). Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.g., PHMSA, FERC, US Coast Guard, etc.) Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) or ability to acquire TWIC. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working and executing brownfield projects in operating oil and gas facilities (e.g., petrochemical, gas processing, LNG). Experience with permit to work protocols and direct interface with operations personnel. Experience interfacing with government agencies, regulators, and local jurisdictions (i.e. PHMSA, Parish, etc.). Refrigerated, cold product storage tank experience, including integrity inspections and recommissioning idled tanks.
