Project Engineer
Job Title: Project EngineerJob Description We are seeking a dedicated Project Engineer to manage tracking schedules and budgets, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure work is executed according to plans and specifications within the heavy civil and asphalt industry. You will be responsible for supporting daily project administration, including RFIs, change orders, and subcontractor coordination. The role involves tracking quantities, costs, and productivity metrics to assist with project tracking and forecasting. You will maintain up-to-date documentation, coordinate with superintendents and field crews, participate in project meetings, and support closeout processes. Ensuring safety policies and procedures are followed on all job sites is a key aspect of this position. Responsibilities + Track schedules and budgets, ensuring adherence to plans and specifications. + Coordinate subcontractors and support daily project administration including RFIs and change orders. + Track quantities, costs, and productivity metrics to support project tracking and forecasting. + Maintain up-to-date documentation including plans, specs, daily reports, and safety records. + Coordinate with superintendents and field crews to support daily operations. + Participate in project meetings and prepare meeting minutes and action items. + Support closeout processes including punch lists, as-builts, and final documentation. + Ensure safety policies and procedures are followed on all job sites. Essential Skills + Project engineering and management. + Construction and construction management. + Civil and heavy civil construction. + Experience in pre-construction, asphalt, and paving. + Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering. + 1–3 years of experience in construction or civil project support. + Understanding of construction documents, specifications, and standard practices. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with Procore and Bluebeam. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with pre-construction planning, including schedule development and material submittals. + Permit coordination experience. + Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) participation. + Potential to advance to Project Manager if proven capable. + Experience with 'the person' preferred but will accept heavy civil experience. Work Environment This position involves a mix of field and office work, with the elements being a factor during field operations. You will be part of a strong pipeline of business, ensuring stability and opportunities for growth within the company. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
