**Job Description**

Through the application of industrial expertise, our Advisory team acts as both a standalone business and supports AECOM projects in the UK&I region and also globally:
+ Our manufacturing knowledge has translated automotive practices and thinking into the defence, construction and transportation industries.
+ Our factory gained automation and control experience brings new perspectives to transport infrastructure projects such as the rail and aviation industries.
+ Our Industrial Manufacturing Engineers using their knowledge and experience along with Lean and Six Sigma tools have further unlocked new thinking to make efficiencies for our clients in Defence, Aviation, Global Retail, Automotive and Construction.
We are currently recruiting for an experienced professional to lead and grow Advisory work in the defence sector reporting to the head of Industrial Advisory supporting our Advisory offering. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for ensuring the technical and commercial success of projects delivered.

To support development of a top performing Industrial manufacturing process capability within Industrial Advisory, that wins and delivers high value consultancy projects within Defence and Ports & Marine sectors integrating Lean thinking across all the work that we deliver.
Lead the defence business growth in by growing internal AECOM networks along with external contacts to identify and win opportunities. Growing the defence team in the UK and globally whilst supporting the growth of the team in other sectors.
Support the growth of Industrial Advisory across the UK and globally within AECOM to grow the team size and revenue generated.
**Here’s what you’ll do**
The Industrial Advisory team is a key part of Advisory Services. and as a lead member of the team you will:
+ Lead the business growth of Industrial Advisory in the defence sector
+ Support strategic growth objectives of Advisory Services and Industrial Advisory
+ Develop a strategic growth plan for defence and then deliver on this plan
+ Support development of the value propositions for Industrial Advisory capabilities applied into defence environments but most significantly providing Manufacturing/Mechanical or digital inputs to propositions.
+ Support the development of innovative thought leadership that sets AECOM apart from its competitors.
+ Support the development of best practice methods and standards for manufacturing process improvements to apply throughout Advisory Services and into the wider AECOM organisation.
+ Develop a network throughout AECOM to promote Advisory into projects and with their clients.
+ Develop client relationships through project delivery and in support of business development.
+ Support the development of solutions to business/client challenges developed from a foundation of understanding or analysis of business practices and goals.
+ Collaborate with members of the Advisory Services teams to formulate strategy and develop exciting offerings that maximise the potential of the wider AECOM team.
+ Ensure projects delivered under your management are executed to quality, cost and time.

**Qualifications**
**Ready to push the limits of what’s possible?**
**Here’s what we’re looking for**
+ Must already hold or be capable to apply for Security clearance of SC level (Resident in the UK for at least 5 years), be a UK national and single passport holder
+ Experienced, approachable leader, demonstrating strong leadership skills.
+ Strong coaching, training and influencing skills.
+ A background working as part of an in house manufacturing/engineering, design, project, or process improvement team; or as part of a machine/ system integrator within Defence (Submarines, OEM’s, Ships, Military vehicles etc).
+ Automation/ robotics knowledge and experience would be advantageous
+ Mechanical handling experience including cranes
+ Manufacturing equipment design, layout planning or production process planning
+ Experience or be willing to develop consulting capacity and developing stakeholder relationships.
+ Demonstrate initiative and a desire for dealing with complex problems.
+ Able to listen to clients, understand and form compelling arguments for our services.
+ Flexible and willing to work away from the office to meet our client or business demands.
+ We envisage that the role will be Hybrid working linked to an AECOM office, however there will be a need for regular travel to other locations, mainly across the UK, but also Europe and further afield as required.
+ Some understanding of Continuous Improvement methods/processes and the application of Lean principles and Six Sigma to projects across different industries.
+ Some experience in leading improvement/change projects.
Ideally you will be qualified to HND level or above, or will have a minimum of ten years’ experience working within the industry and be capable to demonstrate this knowledge. Membership of an appropriate professional body would be advantageous for this role.
