We are seeking a Project Designer to join our established Architecture Department within an integrated Design\/Build (DB) construction company that focuses on military construction projects. The Project Designer will be an architectural team member assisting in the coordination across a variety of key disciplines including fire protection\/life safety, civil, landscape architecture, structural, interior design, mechanical\/plumbing, electrical, and telecommunications\/audio visual\/security. The Project Designer will work closely with other engineers and architects for the duration of the projects. The Project Designer will assist the design team with technical expertise in architectural design, construction documents, construction, building codes, and project coordination issues associated with diverse project types with a primary focus on the delivery of DoD military constructions projects.\n
Responsibilities:\n\nProvide support in researching building codes and regulations to support project tasks\nAssist in the development of schematic layouts and preliminary design\nAssist in the construction documentation\/detailing on architectural projects\nReview architectural documents and design models for areas of conflict with all disciplines\nAssist in the development of the building model using Revit\nAssist with creating addenda's and responding to RFIs\nAssist in QA\/QC and technical reviews\nAssist in construction administration\nAssist with producing and assembling design submittal packages\nProduce architectural exhibits\n\n
Qualifications:\n\nRegistered Architect, preferred or working towards licensure and enrolled in NCARB's Intern Development Program is strongly encouraged\nBachelor's Degree in Architecture or related field from an accredited college or university, required\nA minimum of 5 years of experience in construction documentation of commercial projects under the direction of a licensed architect\nFamiliarity of civil, structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and low voltage systems\nExperience in architectural construction detailing\nDepartment of Defense (DoD) experience, preferred\nProficiency with and experience using Revit software\nTechnical competence and proven experience in schematic design through construction documentation\nStrong written and verbal communication, and organizational skills\nUnderstanding and experience in Unified Facilities criteria (UFC) and building codes, preferred\nTravel may be required, approximately 10%\n\n

Pay: $35 - $40 per hour dpending on experience.\n
Workplace: This is a hybrid position located in Carlsbad, CA. The hybrid work schedule consists of a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday in the office and an optional work-from-home on Thursday and Friday.\n
