Project Coordinator/Assistant Project Manager

Job Description

Our client is currently seeking a Project Coordinator/Assistant Project Manager to join their team. This person will partner with and support Project Managers to ensure projects are initiated, planned, executed, and completed successfully on time and on budget. Under the supervision of a project manager, they will manage administrative tasks in order to move deliverables along in several projects.

Projects will include environmental compliance, environmental emergency response, environmental assessment, environmental remediation, and industrial service.

They will provide support for projects throughout their lifecycle. Their responsibility will increase as their experience and knowledge increase. Components of a project that they could support include scheduling, internal and external stakeholder coordination, resource allocation, change control, cost control, invoicing preparation, and project closure and assessment. Major roles and responsibilities include completing various administrative tasks, communicating effectively with stakeholders, and ensuring that every aspect of the project is completed on time. Using the project plan, they must be able to foresee potential blockers and find proper solutions to mitigate or eliminate problems, so that they don’t impede a project’s success.

They will use Microsoft Project for project planning, Microsoft Teams (Shifts function) to schedule resources, and Deltek for time keeping and accounting. They will also use Microsoft Excel, Word, and other computer programs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of experience in project administration, project coordination, or project management. Prefer someone working toward or interested in obtaining certifications such as the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) and Project Management Professional (PMP).Experience in one or more of the following industries is preferred: environmental, engineering, and construction management Experience using project management and project accounting software is a plus. Experience managing internal stakeholders in a matrix model organization is a plus. Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, sciences, or other relevant field is a plus.Certifications in a technical field are a plus.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
