Job Description

AECOM is seeking a talented Project Coordinator - Transit & Rail to join our Mississauga, ON office.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Provide project coordination and control, as well as review designs and construction of infrastructure projects proposed by outside companies and government agencies on or near railway property, on behalf of our clients (Railways), to ensure compliance with Railway StandardsActs as liaison between Third Party applicants and the RailwayProject coordinator for transportation/rail projects, including freight-rail and transit-railSupport project managers with routine and non-routine tasksTypical duties will include:Attend meetings and prepare minutes of meetingsMonitor project costs and budgetsPrepare weekly and monthly project status reportsReview documents (drawings, reports, contractor shop drawings, etc.)Acts as liaison between Third Party applicants and the Railway;Set up new projects and track monthly billingPrepare project schedules and monitor the progress of workReview and compile client submittalsWrite technical specifications and bid documentsNAPT submissions and RCAC coordinationCollects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problemsPerforms work in accordance with the agreed-upon budget and schedule under supervision

 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering + 2 years of heavy civil engineering experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

1+ year transit and railway experience will be an assetUnderstanding of Railway Rules and Regulations, and Safety and Operating ProceduresProject coordination experienceExperience in transit or railExperience working on-site (construction supervision, surveying, compaction monitoring/testing, etc.)Project management experience would be an assetDesign and/or review of engineering plansExcellent written and verbal communication skills (English)Interacts with clients in a professional mannerStrong interpersonal, negotiating, problem-solving and analytical skills are a mustAble to work well under pressureDetail oriented, adept at multi-tasking and prioritizing workloadsSelf-starter, ability to multi-task
