Project Coordinator, Guideway Trackwork
Ledcor is seeking motivated Project Coordinators with a background in Trackwork Construction as our Guideway Team on the Capital Line Southeast LRT Expansion Project is expanding.

In this role, you’ll collaborate with a diverse range of project staff at every level, providing essential technical support to ensure the successful implementation of project and divisional management plans. As a problem solver, you’ll continuously seek and implement innovative solutions to keep our projects moving forward smoothly. Essential Responsibilities:

Implement and maintain Ledcor systems and procedures throughout the project durationSupport the site Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) program through participation in worksite inspections, the worksite observation program, safety meetings, etcWork closely with project Superintendents supporting implementation of construction activities in the field.  Including developing and maintaining Workplans and Installation Procedures.  Also supports with performing quantity take-offs and daily tracking of field installation progressAssist with the development of the project schedule and tracking of project milestones and deliverables; inputs and updates schedule throughout the project and reviews with Project Manager/SuperintendentPerform Inspections of construction installations to ensure work is adhering to project specification and relevant drawings.  Support with development and implementation of project Inspection and Testing Procedures (ITPs)Coordinate the request for information (RFI) process, ensuring RFIs are distributed to affected trades and maintains RFI logs and redlinesSupport with administering the change management process by identifying and documenting contract changesSupport the (sub) contract management process through the tendering, technical evaluation, and awarding of work or supply materials; assistance with the review and processing of invoices and progress claims, and assistance with the review of documents and inquiriesPrepare purchase requisitions for approval and assist with procurement of materials and equipmentPerform general administrative and recordkeeping functions including the review and distribution of documentation; daily reporting, preparation of correspondence and meeting minutes, tracking of project milestones and maintenance of files, logs, drawings and specificationsSupport the review, distribution, and filing of contract documents in accordance with the established project document distribution matrixSupport project close-out by preparing turnover documents

Qualifications :

Professional Engineering or Technology designation or relevant industry experience is an asset3+ years of relevant work experience in Railway Construction or MaintenanceMust have experience in Railway/Track Construction working on Light Rail Transit (LRT) or related Industrial Projects.  Experience with reviewing track related shop drawings and quality documentation for field track installations is considered an asset   Able to read and understand construction documentsStrong computer background including experience with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam and scheduling software, such as Microsoft Project.  Experience with other construction planning and management software is an asset (3D model viewers, document management systems, etc.)Strong communication skills, confidence interacting with others in verbal and written formMust be comfortable working in both an office and field environmentKnowledge of main construction office processes:  project set up; subcontract management; change management; RFIs (request for information) and technical reviews; project closeoutAbility to identify problems/issues and generates solutions and makes sound decisions using standard proceduresCapable of probing and listening carefully, presents information clearly in an appropriate style and persuades others in straightforward situationsWillingness to contribute actively in team activities, sharing experiences and ideasMust have valid Class 5 drivers license

Work Conditions:

This is a site-based position within the City of EdmontonPosition will require both office and field work.   Predominantly field workMust be flexible on working hours to support field work needs
