Project Controls Specialist
Job Title: Project Controls Specialist Job Description The Project Controls Specialist leads project controls processes and consults with the project management team to ensure client satisfaction. This role involves presenting schedule and budget status reports to the project management team and the client. Responsibilities + Validate the proper set-up and management of the Enterprise Planning & Controls software. + Analyze data, logs, and reports in the Enterprise Planning & Controls software or other tools. + Ensure the proper Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is utilized. + Develop effective scheduling reports, cost reports, cash flow reports, and forecasts for multiple projects. + Develop, implement, and manage the reporting data warehouse to produce valuable program controls reports and data for multiple large projects. + Provide leadership and training to team members, ensuring the resolution of difficult project control issues. + Develop and implement project execution plans. + Develop and maintain effective relationships with existing and potential clients, customers, and contractors. + Responsible for engineering, procurement, and construction planning, scheduling, logistics, and cost control. + Serve as a point of contact for technical questions from the project team. + Validate the accuracy of cost management and forecast reporting. + Interface with the Project Management Team and Accounting Department to review project costs and contingency costs and support external audits. + Negotiate prime agreements, construction contracts, and subcontract agreements. + Review upstream (prime contract) and downstream (purchase orders and subcontract) change orders. + Analyze cash flow reports. + Lead the Interactive Project Planning Meetings (IPPM). + Lead the presentation of Project Controls reporting. + Validate schedule progress and manage schedule management involving the critical path method of scheduling techniques. + Perform schedule what-if scenarios. + Validate the accuracy of earned value management system reporting. + Analyze progress measurement and progress curves. + Perform and review material takeoffs. + Identify and oversee the Risk Management process. + Perform quality checks and inspections on project controls deliverables. + Conduct field audits to validate the accuracy of reporting and processes. + Perform Project Forensic Analysis. + Comply with all policies and standards. + Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills + Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. + 7 years of direct project controls experience. + Experience with critical path scheduling, project cost management, estimating, and document control. + Proficient with Microsoft Office. + Excellent presentation, written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with Oracle Primavera P6 is preferred. + Ability to facilitate and produce detailed construction schedules and interface those schedules with engineering and procurement activities. + OSHA 10-hour safety certification or ability to obtain. Work Environment The work environment includes working with advanced project management software and tools, requiring attention to detail and excellent communication skills. The role demands a collaborative approach with various departments to ensure project success and client satisfaction. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Kansas City, Missouri. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00/hr.
