Project Controls Cost Analyst will be responsible for supporting the project managers with the cost performance relating to all project and outage work at Power Generation Region. The Project Controls Cost Analyst will be developing and maintaining weekly cost reports. This position requires a lot of flexibility due to the changing needs of the internal and external customers and will work closely with the Finance department.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Be proficient in cost management and productivity reporting in JD Edwards

• Setup and maintain Oncore templates for project and outage work

• Reconcile labour and non-labour at a Job level to ensure accuracy of reporting

• Provide the Project Managers with CPI and production rates as required

• Support Project Managers and Project controls manager as required

• Work with Finance and manage all aspects of the weekly “accruals”

• Report Quarterly on projected gross margin at completion of project work, assist with divisional projections.

• Forecast of project work for cost overruns

• Use earned value to calculate CPI and forecast labour cost on all projects

• Work within a team atmosphere and be a team player.

• Setup and maintain Change Management in Oncore and/or JDE as required

• Work with Project Management team, Planners and Estimators in development of project plans (costs, schedule, risk, scope and change management plans)

• Work with the Project Management team in the development of projects internal controls processes and procedures

• Track and evaluate cost trends and variances and adjust forecasts as required

• Conduct analysis and prepare progress reports on cost, and risk

• Support project close-out reporting and documentation activities as required

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Related post-secondary education such as a university degree or college diploma

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• 2-4 years of project controls or similar experience with projects

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Experience on projects with low risk and complexity

• Proven understanding of project management, engineering and construction processes

• Experience in cost control and monitoring practices and procedures

• Experience in relevant project controls software

• Strong interpersonal, communication, organization and analytical skills

• Proficient in JD Edwards software

• Intermediate Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
