This Position reports to:

Senior Engineering Manager


 

Key responsibilities

In this role, you will take on a key position in which you will be responsible for the coordination, the engineering and the commissioning process. You will provide technical recommendations in various project phases and ensure that all activities are carried out efficiently, in accordance with standards and in line with customer expectations. In doing so, you will always keep an eye on possible optimization potential in order to continuously increase the quality and efficiency of our projects.

The work model for the role is: hybrid (#LI-Hybrid)

You will be mainly accountable for:

Contributing to advanced DCS systems with modern tools such as zenon in order to implement future-oriented control solutions

Independent design and precise documentation of innovative automation and protection systems

Creation of customized specifications and development of powerful software applications

Designing and implementing hardware for state-of-the-art automation and communication systems

Carrying out acceptance tests (FAT) and independently commissioning the systems directly at the customer's premises

Creation of comprehensive technical documentation in accordance with ABB standards

Active participation in the project team and support in the preparation of convincing offers

Qualifications for the role

Successful (technical) university degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent/higher degree

Several years of experience in electrical engineering projects and commissioning, preferably in medium and low-voltage systems

Sound knowledge of engineering methods, processes, IEC 61850 and Ethernet/communication tests

Experience with projects in utilities, petrochemical, mining, metal industry, railroad applications is desirable

Fluency in written and spoken German and English

A high level of self-motivation, curiosity and a desire to learn new technologies, coupled with a collaborative, solution-oriented approach and good communication skills

Willingness to work in an international team and to travel (approx. 20-30%)
