Project And Change Consultant
Description The Strategy & Business Transformation department is seeking a Project & Change Management Consultant to support key initiatives within the organization. This position reports to the Head of Project & Change Management and works closely with team members to assist in the coordination and execution of projects and change management activities. In this role, you will help manage project tasks, maintain documentation, and support stakeholder communications to ensure smooth implementation of business process and technology changes. You will contribute to change management efforts by assisting with readiness assessments, communication planning, and tracking adoption progress. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn. We are looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, demonstrates initiative, and is committed to supporting projects that align with strategic objectives and deliver measurable business value Responsibilities include: · Assist in establishing and maintaining project structures, ensuring clear ownership and accountability across assigned initiatives. · Support relationship-building efforts with portfolio managers, product owners, and internal stakeholders to help clarify project scope and objectives. · Maintain and update project plans in Workfront for initiative-level projects, including timelines, work breakdowns, and tracking dependencies. · Maintain and update risks, issues, and decisions in Workfront for initiative-level programs. · Prepare and draft program meeting agendas, meeting minutes, and action item follow-ups. · Help collect, track, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to support benefit realization and project success assessments. · Support the monitoring and reporting on project budgets and expenses with the Sr. Program Manager, Finance Business Partner and Portfolio Program Manager. · Assist in coordinating cross-departmental collaboration and planning activities to support effective execution of process, people, and technology changes. · Draft regular status updates and reports on project progress, risks, issues, and decisions needed. · Ensure adherence to company execution standards and assist in applying appropriate project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid) as directed. Team Leadership and Coaching: · Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and accountability within the project team, decision makers and related initiatives. · Contribute to leading, coaching, and inspiring project teams, fostering an environment of continuous improvement psychological safety and development. · Document and monitor performance metrics to monitor team efficiency and project outcomes, ensuring alignment with project goals. Change Management: · Understand and support the initiative change strategy and plan. · Assist and support change management activities (in coordination with the Sr. Program Manager) with a focus on leadership enablement, training, communications, implementation planning, and resistance management. Risk and Issue Management: · Identify, analyze, assist in mitigating and document project risks proactively to minimize their impact on project timelines and outcomes. · Help to drive processes to track, escalate, and resolve issues promptly to ensure minimal disruption to project progress. · Develop and draft contingency plans to address potential project challenges and ensure continuity. Evaluation and Project Transition: · Coordinate and participate in a thorough post-project evaluation to gather feedback, assess project success, and identify areas for improvement. · Document lessons learned and best practices to inform future projects and drive continuous improvement. · Continually measure and report the success of our project execution, change adoption efforts using analytics?? · Manage the smooth closeout and transition of the project to the business, ensuring all deliverables are completed, documentation is finalized, and a thorough handover is conducted. Skills Project management, Organizational change management, Corporate communication, Change management Top Skills Details Project management, Organizational change management, Corporate communication, Change management Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience: · Experience coordinating medium and large-scale programs is strongly preferred! · 5-7 years of experience in project management with experience leading large transformational initiatives. · 3-5 years of experience in change management execution · Proven history of collaborating with agile teams and hybrid execution. · Proven ability to perform well under pressure, managing high demand and tight deadlines. · Experience working with global teams and Executive Leadership. · Technical Ability: Knowledge of and experience with standard documentation and project management tools (e.g., Workfront; MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint) and able to learn and adapt effectively to new operational tools. · Presentation & Communication: Strong communication skills (including written and oral presentation skills). · Planning & Organizing: Skilled at developing schedules and timetables with clear, specific milestones, deadlines, and contingencies. Able to monitor team performance and adjust plans or pace based on progress, performance, risks, and issues. · Problem Solving: Effective at anticipating, identifying, and implementing practical and timely solutions to problems. · Partnership Building: Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and partner effectively with different types of stakeholders Key Skills: · Resourceful self-starter with the ability to independently drive progress and adapt in ambiguous situations. · Strong networking and influencing skills, particularly in navigating the organization to coordinate with diverse teams. · Ability to quickly grasp new concepts and apply leveraging a consultative skillset. · Confident in proposing new ideas and integrating feedback, even under executive scrutiny. · Proficient in using standard documentation tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, ADO). · Excellent written and verbal communication Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Johnston, RI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
