Project Accounting Analyst

Airswift is currently looking for a Project Accounting Advisor to work with one of our major clients in Calgary, AB on a 12-month contract (possible extension).
Duties & Responsibilities
Work closely with Project Managers to make sure all project expenses are tracked correctly and reported on time.
Collect and check financial records, prepare estimates for costs that haven’t happened yet, review timesheets, and help with reports that show where money was spent and why.
Teach and guide the team on how to plan, track, and report costs throughout the project.
Review cost and cash flow forecasts monthly with the Project Manager and team to ensure financial transparency.
Create, update, and close out budgets and project structures in company systems (like Oracle, Copperleaf, EPPRT) as the project progresses.
Support the process of buying goods and services for the project, including entering purchase requests, confirming deliveries, coding invoices, solving problems, and working with vendors and other teams.
Make changes to project forecasts and budgets as needed.
Help prepare the yearly budget and report on spending for different department
Experience
Minimum ten (10) years of experience in performing cost management and other project controls functions for multiple project assignments.
Oil & Gas, IT, Petrochemical, Industrial or Power industry experience preferred.
Qualifications
Overall knowledge of Project Controls principles and practical application to effectively manage project progress and performance.
Comfortable using Excel and other basic computer programs to organize and analyze data.
Able to explain things clearly in writing and in person and respond to questions in a way that’s easy to understand.
Work well with others but also able to get things done independently when needed.
Know how to use ERP systems to manage project information.
Handle a busy workload, make good recommendations to the team, and keep things moving smoothly.
Work effectively with team members who may be in different locations.
Nice to Have Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred.
Completion of a Certified Cost Engineer (AACE's CCC/CCE) or Project Management Professional certification
