Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Project Accountant II to support financial management across multiple projects and contracts. This role is responsible for the full project accounting lifecycle, partnering closely with Project Managers and operational teams to ensure accurate reporting, contract compliance, and strong financial performance. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, analytical, and comfortable working independently in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage full project accounting lifecycle, including contract setup, budget tracking, invoicing, and financial reportingPrepare accurate client invoices, support collections, and monitor accounts receivableMaintain project budgets, review cost and earned value data, and support forecasting and closeoutEnsure accurate contract documentation and compliance throughout the project lifecycleAssist with coding and processing AP, timesheets, expense reports, and subconsultant invoicesPartner with Project Managers to provide financial insights and resolve project‑related issuesParticipate in project reviews and support continuous financial monitoring across multiple initiativesRequired Skills & ExperienceStrong in project accounting, including budgeting, invoicing, and reconciliationExperience with general ledger functions and financial reportingProficiency in Excel (heavy usage required)Experience with invoice reconciliation and contract administrationERP experience with Oracle EBSMinimum 5 years of relevant experience (advanced degree may offset years of experience)Must have experience within an Engineering, Construction, or Architecture firmPreferred QualificationsAssociate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred)Experience with Pronto or Pulse systemsStrong analytical skills and ability to work independentlyExcellent communication and collaboration skillsWork EnvironmentThis role begins in‑office for the first 90 days to support onboarding and training. After ramp‑up, the position transitions to a hybrid schedule with at least two days per week on‑site.
The team is opening a new office in downtown Nashville, with the option to sit in either the Brentwood or Nashville location. You will join a supportive, family‑oriented environment with one other Project Accountant currently on the team. A company laptop is provided.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brentwood, TN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $47.00/hr.
