Job Title: Project Accountant II
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Project Accountant II to support project and contract financial management across multiple initiatives. This role is responsible for the full project accounting lifecycle, partnering closely with Project Managers and operational teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, contract compliance, and project financial health. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities
Manage the full project accounting lifecycle, including contract setup, budget tracking, invoicing, and financial reporting.Prepare accurate client invoices, support collections, and monitor accounts receivable.Maintain project budgets, review cost and earned value data, and support forecasting and project closeout.Ensure accurate contract documentation, compliance, and financial administration throughout the project lifecycle.Assist with coding and processing accounts payable, timesheets, expense reports, and subconsultant invoices.Partner with Project Managers and internal teams to provide financial insight and resolve project-related issues.Participate in project reviews and support continuous financial monitoring across multiple projects.Essential Skills

Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred)A minimum of 5 years of experience; an advanced degree may offset years of experienceERP system: EBS (Oracle)Excel-heavy position: Must be comfortable with Excel the majority of the timeExperience in either Pronto or Pulse is a plusMust have in an Engineering/Construction/Architecture firmExperience with project budgeting, invoicing, and contract administrationFamiliarity with earned value management and cost trackingProficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools (vlookup, pivot tables, etc.)Strong analytical skills with close attention to detailAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlinesStrong communication skills and ability to partner with Project ManagersProven discretion in handling confidential informationWork Environment
In-office for the first 90 days until ramped up; once trained, a hybrid schedule with a minimum of 2 days on-site. Opening a new office in downtown Nashville, with options to sit in either the Brentwood or Nashville office. Currently has 1 other Project Accountant in the office. A family environment where everyone helps each other. Laptop provided for work. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brentwood, TN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $47.00/hr.
