We are seeking an experienced Project Accountant to join our team full-time in Downtown Seattle, WA. The role involves working onsite Monday through Friday and focuses primarily on accounts payable with some accounts receivable duties, utilizing JD Edwards ERP systems. You will manage union payroll for 5-15 employees weekly, with the potential to handle more as projects grow. This position ensures the accuracy of ledger accounts, reconciles subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger, and assists with monthly and annual financial close processes, including the preparation of consolidated financial statements.
ResponsibilitiesPerform union payroll for 5-15 employees weekly, with potential increases based on new projects.Ensure accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconcile subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger.Assist with monthly and annual financial close processes, including preparation of consolidated financial statements.Perform complex reconciliations including liability account roll forwards and monthly bank reconciliations.Assist with internal and external audits.Prepare and review journal entries and correct accounting posting errors.Work with Textura, Report Now, and Pro-Cor software.Assist management in preparing and analyzing various reporting needs such as Progress Billings, Lean restrictions, and Retention bonds.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Accounting.2-5 years of related construction experience.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).Strong reporting skills using Excel with vlookups and pivot tables.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with JD Edwards is ideal, but knowledge of Sage or Timberline is acceptable.Experience with Textura is a plus.Experience in project accounting, construction accounting, project billing, lien, progress billing, job costing, and payment processing.Experience with NetSuite, Sage300, Timberline, Sage 100 Contractor, and Construction AP.Customer service experience, especially related to contractors and subcontractors.Work EnvironmentYou will work in a dynamic and growing environment, contributing to a 140-year-old company that continues to expand into public works projects. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $36.00 - $43.00/hr.
