We are seeking a dedicated Project Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing various accounting tasks related to our projects, ensuring accurate billing, and maintaining comprehensive project records.
ResponsibilitiesSet up new customers and jobs in the accounting system.Bill, invoice, and maintain project-related records, including contracts and change orders.Confer with project managers to review billings, change orders, contract amounts, and estimates for all projects.Investigate project variances and report to management on opportunities for additional billings or project savings.Maintain lien waivers and other legal paperwork related to projects.Respond to requests for additional detail from customers and/or project managers.Perform monthly closing activities related to work-in-progress (% complete) accounting.Close out projects upon completion.Analyze and reconcile various balance sheet accounts.Set up and maintain other entity and third-party platforms.Analyze processes and procedures for potential improvement.Assist with month-end and year-end financial statements.Assist with year-end CPA audits and other tasks as assigned.Assist with the reporting and remittance of sales and use tax.Participate in ongoing training and education on ERP systems.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Accounting.5–10 years of experience in accounting.Experience in job cost and work-in-progress accounting.Highly organized with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.Strong time, task, and priority management skills.Team-oriented, teachable, and trainable.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in the construction industry.Experience with Vista ERP system.Work EnvironmentThis role is based in the office with working hours from Monday to Friday, either 7 AM to 4 PM or 8 AM to 5 PM.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
