Project Accountant

Description

New customer and job setupBill, invoice, and maintain project-related records, including contracts and change ordersConfer with project managers to review billings, change orders, contract amounts, and estimates for all projects, including investigating project variancesReport to management on opportunities for additional billings or project savingsMaintain lien waivers and other legal paperwork related to projectsRespond to requests for additional detail from customers and/or project managersPerform monthly closing activities related to work-in-progress (% complete) accountingClose out projects upon completionAnalyze and reconcile various balance sheet accountsOther entity and third-party platform setup and maintenance

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Analyze processes and procedures for potential improvement

Assist with month-end and year-end financial statements

Assist with year-end CPA audits and other tasks as assigned

Assist with the reporting and remittance of sales and use tax

Participate in ongoing training and education on ERP systems

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required5–10 years of experience preferredJob cost and work-in-progress experience preferredWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and TeamsConstruction industry and Vista ERP system experience preferred
