Project Accountant

Job Title: Project Accountant

Job Description

The role involves accounting administration with a focus on maintaining courteous, responsive, and reliable interactions with team members and clients.

Responsibilities

Maintain courteous, responsive, and reliable interactions with team members and clients.Streamline systems for project file management and contract documentation processes.Review and maintain contract status throughout the life of the project, including additional service contracts.Manage certificates of insurance and other billing support.Coordinate time tracking system reporting for billing purposes, including archives program coordination.Handle accounts receivable, including project revenue cycle, forecasts, billings, collections, financials, utilization, and process documentation.Provide weekly and monthly updates to management.Manage accounts payable, including vendor and expense management, accrual data entry/processing, and monthly reconciliation.Calculate project costing and profitability, as well as employee project bonuses.Communicate and build strong relationships with project managers to ensure everything aligns with the project goals.Sign lien releases and possibly assist with CRM and ERP integration.Work with the San Diego school district and handle projects that can last a couple of years.

Essential Skills

3+ years of experience in accounting or a related field.Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Proficiency with financial software platforms such as Unanet or Deltek Vision.Understanding of project profitability and staff utilization performance.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong understanding of information systems, including Microsoft Office Suite, Word, and Excel.Experience in the Architecture, Engineering, or Construction (AEC) industry is highly preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in billing and collections.Ability to understand progress billing and project profitability.Proactively seek solutions to business challenges.Flexibility with project changes and scrutinized time schedules.Professionalism through client relations.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85280.00 - $91520.00/yr.
