Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Project Accountant to join our team in New York, New York. This role is ideal for someone with experience in project accounting within the construction industry who thrives in a collaborative environment. The successful candidate will oversee financial processes, ensure accurate reporting, and work closely with project managers to maintain budget alignment. Responsibilities: • Oversee and manage project accounting duties, including tracking costs and allocating expenses. • Process accounts payable and ensure accurate job cost tracking. • Collaborate with project managers to monitor expenditures and ensure budget compliance. • Handle vendor communications, including invoice management and payment processing. • Prepare and review expense allocations to ensure accuracy and adherence to guidelines. • Conduct account reconciliations and maintain the general ledger. • Manage cash flow reporting and forecasts to support financial planning. • Perform AIA billing and ensure compliance with industry standards. • Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze data and generate financial reports. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in project accounting, preferably within the construction industry. • Proficiency in month-end close processes and general ledger management. • Strong knowledge of journal entries and account reconciliation. • Experience with bank reconciliations and cash flow reporting. • Familiarity with AIA billing and related documentation. • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and financial reporting. • Ability to collaborate effectively with project managers and vendors. • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
