Project Accountant
**Job Title:** Project Accountant **Location:** Long Beach, CA **Job Type:** Full-Time | Salary: $80,000 – $95,000 DOE **Overview:** A leading provider of geotechnical and environmental remediation services is seeking a **Project Accountant** to support dynamic project teams. This role serves as a key financial liaison between operations and accounting, ensuring that project financials are accurate, timely, and support effective decision-making. We’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can communicate clearly across both financial and non-financial stakeholders, offering creative solutions that challenge the status quo and drive continuous improvement. **Key Responsibilities:** + Ensure timely submission and approval of timesheets. + Review and validate payables against vendor contracts before processing. + Accurately code expenditures by job, equipment, or G&A classification. + Prepare billing reports and support project managers with client invoicing. + Monitor project budgets, staffing, billing structures, and work plans. + Provide project managers with financial reports, budget updates, and forecasts. + Assist in collection efforts and proposal financial analysis as needed. + Participate in month- and year-end close and audit documentation. + Maintain up-to-date weekly project financials. + Perform other related duties as assigned. **Qualifications:** + Bachelor’s degree or recognized qualification in Accounting or Finance. + 3–5 years of project accounting experience, ideally in construction or engineering. + Strong analytical and communication skills. + Proven ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines. + Familiarity with US GAAP and multi-currency/international accounting. + Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. + ERP experience (Vista, Sage, Deltek, or similar) preferred. + Experience with certified payroll and supporting offshore/international operations is a plus. **Working Conditions:** + Office-based with occasional exposure to field site environments. + Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, and lift light items as needed. + Vision and hearing abilities required for typical office tasks. **Pay Details:** $80,000.00 to $95,000.00 per year Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled To read our Candidate Privacy Information Statement, which explains how we will use your information, please navigate to https://www.adecco.com/en-us/candidate-privacy The Company will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and/or security clearance requirements, including, as applicable: + The California Fair Chance Act + Los Angeles City Fair Chance Ordinance + Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers + San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance
