Caterpillar’s company strategy includes sustainability as one of four focus areas and IPSD is engaged and actively preparing green energy solutions for the future. **The Opportunity** Would you like to be part of a team creating a systems and process legacy? We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to support the Business Resource project team, the role will involve supporting/leading projects across a range of areas as we work to improve processes, enhance analytics and make data more useable. The main area of focus when joining the team will be supporting the system change for EE Griffin/PEI (ERP System Implementation). This role is a unique opportunity to work on an ERP deployment and drive positive process changes within our Industrial Power Systems Division Medium (IPSD-M) data team. **What You Will Do:** + Key Project Accountant representing the Finance function within the deployment of a new ERP system for our North American Legal entities. This will involve only limited travel in 2025 as the project is being run out of our Peterborough site. + Lead liaison on inventory activity to ensure inventory processes are fully designed, integrated and tested in the new ERP system. Key objective of ensuring accounting flows related to inventory are working as planned. + Lead liaison on inventory and aftermarket interfaces, with many of these being unique to our North American ERP system with the role of ensuring these interfaces work to at least the same standards as in the current systems + Work collaboratively with the different departments within Business Resources to successfully embed the new processes within the respective teams. + Lead continuous improvement and strategic projects. Included in this will be support for the migration of Alteryx flows to applications such as Power BI **What You Have:** **Accounting:** Knowledge of accounting methods, processes, and tools; ability to maintain and prepare financial statements and reports using accounting methods and processes. Level Working Knowledge: + Strong grasp of **project accounting** principles. + Knowledge of **inventory accounting** and related financial processes. + Ability to ensure financial data integrity during system transitions. **Financial Analysis:** Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material. Level Extensive Experience **Accuracy and Attention to Detail:** Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision. Level Extensive Experience: **Managing Multiple Priorities:** Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation. Level Extensive Experience: **Analytical Thinking:** Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems. Level Extensive Experience: + Ability to design and optimize inventory processes. + Skilled in troubleshooting system interfaces and ensuring high standards. + Focused on identifying gaps and implementing effective solutions. **Decision Making and Critical Thinking:** Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment. Level Working Knowledge: . **Financial Reporting:** Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports. Level Working Knowledge: **Effective Communications:** Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. Level Working Knowledge: + Strong interpersonal and communication skills. + Ability to work with diverse teams across **Business Resources** , **Finance** , and **Operations** . + Skilled in embedding new processes and driving adoption. **Candidates may have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:** + **Project Experience** : Prior involvement in project roles, especially in system or process implementations. + **Change Management** : Proven ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and manage change from project initiation to completion. + **ERP & Transactional Systems** : Experience working with ERP systems handling high volumes of transactional data. + **Data Tools Proficiency** : Competent in using **Alteryx** and **Power BI** for data analysis, reporting, and workflow automation. + **Data Management & Analytics** : Strong skills in managing, analyzing, and visualizing data to support business decisions. + **Process Improvement Mindset** : Intellectually curious with a passion for identifying and implementing process enhancements. **Additional Information** This position requires the candidate to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office. **What You Will Get** We look forward to welcoming the successful candidate to our dynamic, diverse and friendly team.
