Description We are looking for an experienced Project Accountant to join our team in Los Angeles, California. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Project Managers to ensure the financial health of various projects, monitor performance metrics, and provide strategic insights to enhance project outcomes. Responsibilities: • Partner with Project Managers to analyze and track project performance, including profitability, cash flow, and variance analysis. • Review contracts, budgets, schedules, and associated risks to support accurate forecasting and resource planning. • Evaluate project financials independently and deliver actionable recommendations to improve project management strategies. • Prepare and issue client invoices in compliance with company policies and contractual terms, while monitoring aging invoices and managing collections. • Oversee sub-consultant contracts, including establishing purchase orders and processing invoices effectively. • Identify potential project risks and collaborate with Project Managers to propose solutions and assess financial impacts. • Maintain consistent communication with project teams, clients, and sub-consultants to ensure the financial integrity of projects. • Provide monthly updates to the Finance Manager and address any emerging financial issues promptly. • Participate in project meetings and oversee the completion of project close-outs. • Generate ad hoc financial reports, including variance analysis, financial modeling, and trend evaluations. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in project accounting, with preference for experience in engineering, architectural, or construction industries. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; experience with Power Query is advantageous. • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. • Self-motivated team player with the ability to train and mentor less experienced staff. • Critical thinking and a solutions-oriented mindset to address complex financial challenges. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration. • Certification relevant to the construction, architecture, or engineering sectors is preferred.
