Project Accountant
Description We are looking for an experienced Project Accountant to join our team in Dallas, Texas. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in construction or real estate accounting. You will play a key role in managing financial processes and ensuring the accuracy of project-related financial activities. Responsibilities: • Handle billing processes, including AIA and progress billing, for construction projects. • Manage accounts payable, specifically subcontractor payables and purchase orders. • Conduct cost analysis and variance reporting to ensure accurate financial tracking. • Oversee vendor management, including insurance verifications and tax documentation. • Process liens and lien waivers in compliance with regulatory requirements. • Perform job costing, manage change orders, and oversee project setup and closeout. • Collaborate in budgeting processes to ensure financial alignment with project goals. • Utilize accounting software, such as Sage Intacct or Sage Timberline, for accurate financial reporting. • Support financial oversight for multiple ongoing projects, including large multi-family developments. • Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely and accurate financial documentation. Requirements • Minimum of 10 years of accounting experience, with at least 5 years in construction or real estate industries. • Proficiency in construction billing methods, including AIA and progress billing. • Strong expertise in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. • Familiarity with lien processing and waiver documentation. • Proven ability to perform cost analysis and manage project budgets. • Experience with job costing, change orders, and project financial setups. • Knowledge of accounting software such as Sage Intacct or Sage Timberline. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
