About This Opportunity
Reporting to the Team Lead, Programs, the Programs Specialist will empower girls across Canada to build a better world by overseeing strategic projects and leading content creation to support the implementation of GGC’s central girl program. This role includes developing and evaluating programing in collaboration with a creative team to elevate girl experiences at GGC.
Position Specifics:
Oversee the development of non-formal programming for girls and youth across all branches of GGC. Bring best practices in DEIA into content creation and review focusing on inclusivity. Facilitate program evaluation, using best in class non-formal education approaches to review and recommendations for improvement. Coordinate the writing of new activities and adaptations of existing activities, including seasonal and outdoor activities, and supporting resources. Coordinate deliverables produced by contributors (e.g. writers, graphic designer, etc.) for projects you oversee. Contribute to the development of processes to support improved workflows. Work as an integrated member of the Programs team, serving organizational needs as required. Work as part of inter-departmental teams, with staff, members, volunteers, and external partners. Facilitate efforts to consult and collaborate with GGC members.

Adheres to all relevant policies, procedures, and practices.Provide general, ongoing support to members/volunteers, responding to/directing inquiries and consulting with the appropriate groups and individuals to support the mission and vision of GGC.Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Related post-secondary education or equivalent experience (Education, early-childhood education, outdoor education)2-3 years of experience working in coordinating, or evaluating outcomes-based education programs, or facilitating youth programs in person (e.g. Camp). Strong understanding of the theory and practice of positive youth development.Excellent program content and instruction writing skills. Proven experience coordinating a diverse set of stakeholders in many locations. Ability to work independently and as a part of a team – sharing ideas and information. Excellent verbal and written communication skills combined with strong interpersonal skills, critical thinking and attention to detail. Ability to work on several projects simultaneously and prioritize work.
Assets Include:
Intermediate computer skills including Office 365 (word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams). CMS understanding is an asset. Familiarity with Girl Guides of Canada and experience in the voluntary sector is an asset. Remote work experience is an asset..
Hiring Range: $55,100– $65,030 Annually
This position will remain open until filled. Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis.
