D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Programmer/Analyst III. The right candidate will develop programs and procedures for the solution of a variety of business issues. Specifically, design and implement applications to improve efficiency in the mortgage loan origination and title policy business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Perform such activities as necessary to tune and maintain proprietary softwareCreate and maintain new applicationsParticipate in certain aspects of user consulting, systems analysis, general systems design, vendor contracts, and detail systems designMake recommendations to management regarding programming standards and techniquesPerform such activities as necessary to act as backup DBA for the Empower SQL serverPerform such activities as necessary to interface Empower with other proprietary software such as Loan BaseResponsible for maintaining all intranet applicationsPerform data analysis, systems requirements definition, and external design tasks as requestedResearch and gather the information needed to create new applications to meet the needs of DHIFS as neededFunction as liaison between IT and other SBUs in DHIFS as requiredConducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the companyAbility to travel overnight

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related fieldFour to seven years of related experience and/or trainingKnowledge of multiple areas including SQL and stored procedures, Crystal programming, ASP programming, script writing for EmpowerSolid data base knowledge - sufficient to function as DBA in the absence of the DBAAbility to work well within a teamExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to perform programming debugging, data analysis and system analysisExcellent planning, problem solving, and analytical skillsPrevious experience working with “packaged/proprietary” software essentialMust be focused on delivering excellent customer serviceAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applicationsProficiency with MS Office and emailAbility to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral visionThe noise level is generally moderate
