Programmer Analyst

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems, computer engineering, or equivalent experienceEmployees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. As a Programmer Analyst with Howmet Aerospace, you will analyze, design, develop, and implement systems that capture, store, integrate, and visualize data captured from the processes and equipment on the shop floor of a manufacturing facility. This is to support the companies process/yield improvement, operational excellence, and data science/AI/analysis goals.  While this position is within the IT organization, it targets business needs in the manufacturing, process management, and data analysis areas with a blend of business intelligence and engineering skills related to shop floor data acquisition (HMI/SCADA) and process data historians.

You will have significant interaction with manufacturing, automation, engineering, and IT resources in the manufacturing locations making effective communication with the business essential.  You are a self-starter, capable of managing medium sized projects within an established budget and timeline.

This position will be based out of our Whitehall, Michigan location in Plant 5.

Primary responsibilities include:

Analyze, design, develop, and implement manufacturing process data integration and analysis systems with primary focus on the implementation of process historians and associated toolsInteract with necessary business process and system owners to effectively understand requirements and implement the appropriate systems solutionEffectively utilize a standardized project lifecycle and management methodology to manage projects, communicate status, and deliver work to schedule and budget.Execute work in compliance with all appropriate audit and regulatory requirements.Effectively work with engineers, data analysts, and data scientists to provide guidance on analyzing large amounts of process data. Support and maintain the MAPICS/XA Infor ERP system, including modules such as Manufacturing, Inventory Management, and Production Control/CostingSupport and maintain in-house Manufacturing Scheduling system on the IBM i (RPGLE)Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, engineering, finance) to gather requirements, analyze processes, and deliver ERP solutions that improve efficiency and data integrityDesign and implement configuration changes, customizations, or interfaces within these environments to meet evolving business needsTroubleshoot and resolve system issues, working with internal users as neededDevelop reports, queries, and data extracts using tools such as SQL, Query/400, or IBM i (AS/400) utilitiesAssist with system upgrades, patches, and documentation for MAPICS/XATrain end users on new functionalities and provide ongoing support for ERP-related workflowsMaintain data integrity, security, and compliance with internal IT standards and controls
