ThisProgram and Policy Research Assistantposition is a great opportunity for a professional who's looking to provide consumer protection and public safety for all Idahoans.
The Health Professions Bureau is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive program and policy research assistant to support the planning, execution, and delivery of key projects. The ideal candidate is organized, communicative, and thrives in fast-paced environments. You will work closely with managers and cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Some knowledge of management practices; program or project planning and implementation.
+ Experience developing and evaluating policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience designing, conducting and evaluating research projects including analysis and interpretation of findings.
+ Basic understanding of how state and federal regulations work.
+ Effective communication skills and strong reasoning abilities.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant business software.
+ Detail oriented ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance in all work products.
+ Past project management experience.
+ Familiarity with regulatory Boards or Commissions.
+ Previous experience with healthcare regulation or state government affairs.
+ Strong ability to analyze data and communicate findings clearly, both verbally and in writing.
+ Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations regarding confidentiality and safeguarding of citizen and governmental information.
+ Experience developing and evaluating healthcare policy topics and regulatory impacts.
Research Assistant:
+ Assist in planning and executing projects, tasks, and resource development.
+ Act as a liaison between project managers, executive officers, and the legal team.
+ Participate in regulatory review of rules and statute discussions by proposing potential changes to statute, rules, and DOPL procedures.
+ Aid in ensuring efficient operations by helping with project timelines, monitoring workloads, maintaining reference manuals, and creating project resources ensuring all deadlines are met.
+ Help address stakeholder concerns through participating in public record requests, drafting newsletters, and other duties as needed.
+ Conduct healthcare landscape surveillance to identify emerging state and federal regulations and their potential impact on Idaho Health Profession Boards and Committees.
+ Demonstrate a resourceful approach to problem-solving and information gathering.
+ Attend Board meetings to understand trends facing the Health Professions Licensing Boards.
