Job Description
The Program Services Specialist is responsible for processing child care fee assistance and maintaining relationships with military personnel, family members, and child care providers. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring that all applications are processed within mandated timeframes and provides exemplary customer service to clients.
ResponsibilitiesEnsure all child care fee assistance applications are processed within the mandated timeframes.Enter client information and data into an automated database system.Determine applicant eligibility according to outlined program requirements.Assist applicants in assessing and selecting child care options and determine child care provider qualifications as needed.Prepare and distribute accurate program information and required documents to Family child care providers in a timely manner.Provide exemplary customer service to clients via telephone or email, assisting clients in resolving questions or concerns.Maintain respectful, professional working relationships with clients.Maintain high ethical standards, including maintaining strict confidentiality.Participate in a team-oriented work environment.Assist with special projects and other functions to accomplish mission objectives.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsTwo years of experience in Social Services, Human Services, Child Development, Case management, Call center, Case coordination, or related area.Experience working off a queue, care management, data entry, social service, program coordination, and case management.Proven experience providing excellent customer service to diverse populations.Experience in social services, human services, or child development settings.Experience with case management and multitasking.Experience in a call center environment with multitasking capability, sense of urgency, organizational skills.Exceptional oral and written communication skills.Knowledge of fee assistance program policies and procedures.Knowledge of database management.Knowledge of superior customer service principles.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree and two years of progressive experience in related fields.Conflict resolution experience is a plus.Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of products and Internet-savvy.Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making skills.Exceptional interpersonal skills to engage clients.Strong organizational, time management, and troubleshooting skills.Active listening skills.Flexibility and ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.Work Environment
The position is 100% remote, with work hours from 10:30 am to 7 pm after training, and during training from 9 am to 6 pm. Temporary surge support is required due to the busy season, lasting roughly six months to the end of the year. Candidates must live within a commutable distance and be open to going onsite if needed and for equipment pick-up.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
