Position Overview:

As the FAcT (Future Aircrew Training) Program Planner, you will support the Program Management effort for this historic multi-billion-dollar project. Sounds like something you are up for? The FAcT Program Planner is dedicated to the FAcT Program and holds a key planning role to ensure the program continuously moves forward in accordance with the program strategy and objectives. The planner draws the attention of the executing team to the challenges ahead so that the team can best position themselves to successfully deliver on commitments.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

Develop and maintain the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)

Participate in IMS updates with the Prime Contractor and subcontractors

Support the detailed planning of on-going activities (using the rolling wave technique when required)

Monitor and update milestone achievements within CAE internal systems

Inform stakeholders of project timelines and deadlines

Perform what-if scenarios and impact analysis on the schedule to mitigate risks or to assess the impact of potential changes

Ensure that all required schedule data is available to support Earned Value Management (EVM)

Make recommendations with respect to best industry processes and tools

 

Essential Qualifications:

Proven experience and ability in planning and scheduling

Expert-level knowledge of project Planning and Scheduling software, in particular MS Project and Planisware

Expert-level knowledge of the WBS, IMP, IMS, program scheduling processes, critical path analysis, critical chain analysis, and what-if scenarios

Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, in particular Excel

Good communication skills and ability to present complex scenarios to a wide range of audiences in both English and French

Proven problem solver who accepts ownership and accountability

College or University degree in management, a technical specialization, or equivalent experience

Able to work collaboratively across organizations

 

Desirable Qualifications:

Familiarity with CAE’s standard simulator milestone sequence

Project management certification (e.g., CAPM, PMP)

Defence & Security or related program experience

Basic understanding of EVM principles

Experience with schedule risk management and Monte Carlo analysis
