100% FTE
Hybrid (3 days of telework)
**DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION**
The Professional Development & Nursing Excellence department supports over 2000 nursing staff and an additional 500 plus nursing students at all levels
**POSITION HIGHLIGHTS**
The Program Operations Specialist brings expertise and knowledge in operational processes to facilitate nursing education required at Harborview Medical Center.
This program encompasses the coordination of multiple orientation programs, 50+ specialized courses and classes, a multitude of in-services, working with 41 educators to serve over 2,000 nurses.
**PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Prepare, modify and update inpatient educational materials
+ Monitor program financial analysis and make recommendations as appropriate
+ Reporting of inpatient education class statistics to both educators and management
+ Oversight of complex educational software programs
+ Providing information and advice to staff, instructors, and students regarding the inpatient education program and Outreach Program
+ Teams with educators/clinicians in order to advance the inpatient education program
+ Recommends, improves or creates new processes to support collection of information or enhancements of database structures
+ Plans and implements educational offerings designed to enhance staff leadership and operational decision making
+ Assists managers and staff in identifying and meeting their ongoing educational goals
+ Utilizes theories of adult education and interactive learning in formal and informal trainings
+ Recommends and assists with implementation, as appropriate, solutions for resolving procedural system causes for incidents/risks
+ Participates in QA/QI activities of the office through the participation in committees, implementation of process improvement initiatives and contribution of suggestions for improvement in patient care delivery
**REQUIREMENTS:**
+ Bachelor's degree in healthcare, decision support, information systems, business, human resources or finance and/or 2-3 years’ experience in related and/or relevant healthcare environment
+ Proven technical skills, including specific knowledge of project management, and experience with a major hospital information system are required
+ Equivalent experience may substitute for degree requirement
