Program Manager

PPG Aerospace is looking for an experienced Senior Program Project Manager to lead the Program Work Streams associated with construction, commissioning, and startup of a new coatings and sealants manufacturing plant followed by other project work. This critical role will be accountable for the comprehensive Program Management of the project. You will ensure adherence to project management best practices, governance, risk management, and delivery of all project milestones. This is a remote role and you will report to the Project Management Office (PMO) with a dotted line to the Shelby Project Owner/Project Leader.
 

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage all aspects of program management for the coatings and sealants workstream plant construction, commissioning, and startup.

Lead monthly Steering Committee and other Work Stream activities to facilitate effective communication and reporting between the PMO, project owner/sponsor, and all project partners.

Integrate activities of project workstreams, ensuring effective management of interdependencies and adherence to project management best practices.

Establish and maintain robust project governance structures to support decision-making and accountability.

Ensure acceptance criteria for deliverables are defined and agreed to by all stakeholders.

Ensure that project management practices for each workstream are consistent, effective, and aligned with overall project objectives.

Proactively identify, assess, and manage project risks, implementing mitigation strategies as necessary.

Monitor project progress to ensure deliverables are completed on schedule and within scope.

Hold project resources accountable for resolution of issues, risk management, and completion of deliverables.

Direct the work of the project scheduler to maintain accurate and up-to-date project schedules. (No direct line of reporting.)

Drive continuous improvement in project management processes and tools throughout the project lifecycle.
 

Qualifications

Only U.S. Citizens, Green Card holders, and political asylees or refugees are eligible to apply.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Supply Chain, Business or similar

8+ years of project management experience with 2+ years experience managing large, complex projects within the chemical manufacturing sector ideally.

Knowledgeable with project management best practices and methodologies

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly preferred

1+ years of experience with Front-End Loading (FEL), Front-End Engineering Design (FEED), and Project Definition Rating Index (PDRI) is advantageous
