Job Title: Program Manager

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Program Manager to lead the execution of major aerospace programs. This role involves managing design, development, qualification, and full-rate production, while serving as the primary point of contact for external customers. The ideal candidate will apply their deep knowledge of NASA and DoD acquisition standards to ensure compliance and drive successful program outcomes.

ResponsibilitiesLead cross-functional execution of aerospace programs, including design, development, qualification, and full-rate production.Serve as the primary point of contact for external customers, providing clear and confident communication.Apply knowledge of NASA and DoD acquisition standards to ensure compliance with applicable standards.Manage cost, schedule, technical performance, and risk using disciplined project management practices.Translate complex engineering concepts into actionable business strategies.Drive proposal efforts for new business and contract modifications.Oversee subcontractor performance and ensure integration with program objectives.Facilitate program reviews and drive successful completion of lifecycle gate milestones.Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and mission assurance to resolve issues proactively.Mentor junior program managers and contribute to program management discipline development.REQUIRED SKILLS15+ years of experience in aerospace or defense, including 10+ years of program management experience.Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physical sciences, or related technical discipline.Strong engineering literacy and ability to contribute to design reviews.Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and make informed decisions.Understanding of government contracting principles, including FFP, CPFF, and IDIQ vehicles.Strong business acumen and ability to align technical execution with objectives.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.U.S. Citizenship required and ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.Additional Skills & QualificationsMaster’s degree or MBA preferred.PMP certification or equivalent preferred.Experience managing large programs ($25M+) across NASA, DoD, and/or commercial space mission areas.Experience with modern ERP, MRP, PLM, MES, and QMS enterprise systems.Ability to travel in performance of job duties (10-20%).Work Environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85.00 - $105.00/hr.
