Join our dynamic team as a Construction Environmental Compliance Lead, where you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the environmental permit compliance of Data Centers during construction phases. You will manage the implementation and adherence to environmental permits and collaborate with consultants, internal, and external partners to achieve compliance goals. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while representing our environmental interests to external stakeholders.
ResponsibilitiesCoordinate with subject-matter experts to meet compliance obligations and environmental requirements in line with construction schedules.Collaborate with Permit Managers to understand and communicate permit conditions to Construction teams for compliance.Manage environmental and construction consultants who support site delivery by conducting inspections, reporting, engaging with agencies, and advising on compliance concerns.Identify and address construction-related issues including stormwater, wetlands, streams, threatened species, cultural resources, air compliance, and permit modifications.Engage with regulatory agencies and communities for new builds and support environmental risk and compliance strategies.Oversee environmental compliance planning and execution for pre-construction activities and operational turnover.Communicate environmental requirements and expertise to diverse stakeholders, maintaining regular project status reports.Contribute to developing and improving an Environmental Excellence program for datacenter delivery and construction.Visit construction sites at least once per week within the assigned region.Essential SkillsStrong experience in project management and ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.Knowledge of environmental permitting programs including air quality, endangered species, CWA permitting, stormwater, and construction general permits.Working knowledge of remedial investigations, remediation strategies, site conceptual models, and management plans.Ability to follow construction schedules and identify compliance risks and mitigation strategies.Self-starter with process-minded and collaborative skills in a fast-paced environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or equivalent.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to establish and maintain positive cross-functional relationships.5+ years of environmental permitting or compliance experience in America.5+ years of program and project management experience in America.Experience with mission-critical facilities or large-scale construction projects.Experience in construction and operational environmental compliance across multiple markets is preferred.Work Environment
This position is fully remote, with a preference for candidates based on the West Coast (PST). The role involves a standard work schedule of 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday, without overtime. Essential tools and resources, including computer software and MS Office Suite, will be provided to support your work.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $73.00 - $83.00/hr.
