Program Manager, Volunteer Services; 24hrs/wk, Part Time

This role will consist of three shifts per week, with a flexible schedule. Beth Israel Lahey Health and Mount Auburn Hospital are devoted to consistently promoting a culture of Wellbeing, Empathy, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Equity as outlined in our organization's WE CARE values which can be reviewed here https://bilh.org/about/purpose-values In this role, the Program Manager works in collaboration with the Chief Operating Officer to enhance the patient experience, support hospital staff and departments, and engage the community through a dedicated volunteer program. **Job Description:** ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to): • Develops, executes and evaluates the volunteer program plan in collaboration with the chief operating officer. • Partners with various members of hospital departments, and administration on volunteer placements. • Promotes the program to internal and external audiences including community-based organizations. • Recruits, onboards and evaluates volunteers. • Recognizes volunteers through annual recognition/awards event. • Maintains volunteer database, including years/hours served. • Performs other requested duties and projects as required and within the scope of skill and competency. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Bachelor's degree required. 2. 3-5 years of related experience working with volunteers preferred and 2-3 years supervisory/management experience preferred. Previous experience in a healthcare setting, with patient experience, or with hospital volunteers is also preferred. 3. Experience in supervision and training is valuable. 4. Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access and other web-based applications. May produce complex documents, perform analysis. Will maintain databases. 5. Consistently promote a culture of Wellbeing, Empathy, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Equity as outlined in the organization's WE CARE values. COMPETENCIES: 1. Written Communications: Ability to communicate complex information in English effectively in writing to all levels of staff, management and external customers across functional areas. 2. Knowledge: Ability to demonstrate broad and comprehensive knowledge of theories, concepts, practices and policies with the ability to use them in complex and/or unprecedented situations across multiple functional areas. 4. Team Work: Ability to act as a team leader for small projects or work groups, creating a collaborative and respectful team environment and improving workflows. Results may impact the operations of one or more departments. 5. Customer Service: Ability to lead operational initiatives to meet or exceed customer service standards and expectations in assigned unit(s) and/or across multiple areas in a timely and respectful manner. 6. Physical Nature of the Job: Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally in carrying, lifting, pushing, pulling objects.
