This role will consist of three shifts per week, with a flexible schedule. Beth Israel Lahey Health and Mount Auburn Hospital are devoted to consistently promoting a culture of Wellbeing, Empathy, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Equity as outlined in our organization's WE CARE values which can be reviewed here https://bilh.org/about/purpose-values In this role, the Program Manager works in collaboration with the Chief Operating Officer to enhance the patient experience, support hospital staff and departments, and engage the community through a dedicated volunteer program. **Job Description:** ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to): • Develops, executes and evaluates the volunteer program plan in collaboration with the chief operating officer. • Partners with various members of hospital departments, and administration on volunteer placements. • Promotes the program to internal and external audiences including community-based organizations. • Recruits, onboards and evaluates volunteers. • Recognizes volunteers through annual recognition/awards event. • Maintains volunteer database, including years/hours served. • Performs other requested duties and projects as required and within the scope of skill and competency. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Bachelor's degree required. 2. 3-5 years of related experience working with volunteers preferred and 2-3 years supervisory/management experience preferred. Previous experience in a healthcare setting, with patient experience, or with hospital volunteers is also preferred. 3. Experience in supervision and training is valuable. 4. Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access and other web-based applications. May produce complex documents, perform analysis. Physical Nature of the Job: Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally in carrying, lifting, pushing, pulling objects.
