What this job involves

The Program Manager oversees all warehouse operations for a large aviation client's SDI storeroom, leading inventory management teams while ensuring efficient procurement, storage, data accuracy, and distribution of facility maintenance materials and equipment. This role demands exceptional organizational capabilities, advanced data management expertise, and strong communication skills to coordinate between warehouse staff, facility technicians, aviation operations, and vendor partners while maintaining inventory systems that support critical aviation facility infrastructure.

What is your day to day?

Manage and coordinate daily warehouse operations including receiving schedules, inventory organization, cycle counting programs, and distribution logistics across aviation facility locationsDevelop and implement strategic inventory management plans to optimize stock levels, minimize carrying costs, and prevent operational disruptions to aviation facility systemsOversee perpetual inventory accuracy through data analytics, reporting dashboards, and systematic auditing procedures using CMMS and ERP platformsLead team of warehouse technicians including scheduling, performance evaluations, training on inventory procedures, and mentorship on aviation facility component identificationAnalyze inventory usage trends, generate comprehensive reports on consumption patterns, and provide data-driven recommendations for stock optimizationCollaborate with Critical Systems Engineers, Operations Managers, and facility leadership to forecast parts requirements for scheduled maintenance and emergency responseManage vendor relationships including procurement coordination, pricing negotiations, performance tracking, and expedited delivery arrangements for critical aviation componentsDevelop and maintain standard operating procedures for materials requisition, issuance tracking, tool accountability, and equipment checkout systemsEnsure warehouse compliance with aviation facility safety standards, hazardous materials protocols, and regulatory requirements specific to airport operationsUtilize advanced Excel functions, inventory management software, and business intelligence tools to create forecasting models and inventory performance metricsConduct regular communication with cross-functional teams through written reports, presentations, and coordination meetings to align inventory operations with facility prioritiesManage departmental budgets, track expenditures against allocations, and implement cost-control measures while maintaining service level agreements

Desired experience and technical skills

Required

5+ years supervisory experience managing inventory or warehouse teams in industrial, aviation, or critical facility environmentsAdvanced proficiency with Microsoft Office SuiteDemonstrated expertise with inventory management systems, CMMS platforms (Corrigo, Maximo, SAP), and data management applicationsExceptional organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and meet stringent deadlinesStrong analytical capabilities including data interpretation, trend analysis, reporting, and translating metrics into actionable strategiesExcellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with facility leadership, technicians, vendors, and regulatory stakeholdersValid driver's license with clean driving record

Preferred

Previous experience in facility managementExperience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization platformsFormal training in inventory methodologies including ABC analysis, min/max systems, economic order quantity, and just-in-time principlesKnowledge of facility systems including HVAC, electrical, fire protection, plumbing, etcExperience with hazardous materials management, SDS documentation, and compliance with aviation safety regulationsBackground in project management with demonstrated ability to lead process improvement initiativesFamiliarity with procurement processes, purchase order systems, contract administration, and vendor performance evaluation
