Program Manager, Abuse Prev, JP 3P Marketplace Trust
We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to join the JP Marketplace Trust (MPT) team within the JP 3P Seller Services Organization, focused on abuse prevention and financial risk reduction for the Japan marketplace.

At Amazon, we believe that every day is still day one: A day to take a first step. A day to look forward to new challenges. And today is that day for you to be part of something great. A day to make your ideas come to life and to join a company that redefines itself every day. That's the energy and passion behind Amazon.

We are looking for someone who is a natural self-starter and is comfortable driving complex, cross-functional programs in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has a true hands-on approach, the ability to generate creative solutions to ambiguous problems, strong analytical and project management skills, and is an effective communicator who can influence without authority across global teams.

This will be an exciting opportunity for you to possess a high level of autonomy and drive integrity while owning the goal of reducing bad debt per 3P GMS for the Japan marketplace—protecting both our customers and our selling partners.

Key job responsibilities
* Own and drive the goal of reducing bad debt per 3P GMS for JP, developing strategies, mechanisms, and metrics to measure progress
* Partner with global teams including Financial Risk Management (FRM), policy teams, and other cross-functional stakeholders to monitor and address abuse patterns specific to the JP marketplace
* Detect, analyze, and respond to new modus operandi (abuse methods) by bad actors, proactively identifying emerging threats before they scale
* Set up and lead multiple programs to strengthen abuse prevention controls, from detection through enforcement
* Develop and introduce processes, policies, and mechanisms that reduce financial exposure while maintaining a healthy seller ecosystem
* Dive deep into data and abuse patterns to surface insights, identify root causes, and propose scalable solutions
* Write and review business cases using information acquired from various stakeholders, including quantifying financial impact of abuse trends
* Manage several competing priorities to ensure critical projects remain visible to all stakeholders whilst maintaining a plan for less urgent matters
* Prioritize projects with biggest impact on bad debt reduction, propose and obtain approval from relevant functional leaders, and schedule resources
* Interface with all necessary functions within the company, including senior stakeholders across JP and global organizations
* Take accountability while providing status, ask for help, and immediately escalate issues and problems as necessary

About the team

We safeguard the ecosystem by identifying, preventing, and mitigating seller abuse that leads to financial losses and erodes customer trust. The team works closely with global partners such as Financial Risk Management (FRM), policy teams, and enforcement teams to monitor abuse trends, develop countermeasures, and reduce bad debt per 3P GMS. We operate at the intersection of data analysis, program management, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure a trusted marketplace for both customers and legitimate sellers.
