**Job Summary:**
**Leads powertrain projects from early innovation through pre-development, with a strong focus on verifying concepts and aligning them with long-term product strategies. This role plays a critical part in executing the powertrain strategy by guiding teams through a structured Pre-Development Process - reducing risk, defining requirements and ensuring system maturity and readiness for seamless integration into PDP.**
**Essential Duties & Responsibilities:**
+ Responsible for the overall success of PT innovation and pre-development projects.
+ Lead cross-functional teams to deliver results aligned with strategic goals.
+ Utilize the Pre-Development Process to guide project execution, ensuring all requirements are clearly defined, documented, and communicated.
+ Work cross-functionally with stakeholders to drive critical decisions and approvals.
+ Prepare and provide clear and concise project status communications across all levels of the organization.
+ Collaborate with suppliers to use their design expertise where appropriate.
+ Foster a high-performing team culture and motivate cross-functional contributors to ensure program success.
+ Manage and report on project budgets. Assist functional managers to plan budgets and manpower forecasts. Monthly financial meeting with Engineering management.
+ Responsible for identifying and securing resources for projects.
+ Advocate for and support teams in applying the Pre-Development Process to reduce risk, mature concepts, and verify performance before PDP integration.
+ Lead strategic initiatives and multiple smaller projects.
+ Other duties as assigned.
**Skills & Knowledge:**
+ BS Engineering Degree required.
+ Minimum 5 years of program leadership or engineering project leadership experience in a similar industry. Strong technical background.
+ Strong interest in powersports products such as motorcycles, off-road vehicles and snowmobiles.
+ Skilled at navigating ambiguity, translating vehicle-level attributes into actionable project definitions and early-stage initiatives.
+ Relentlessly driven, with a mindset to maintain momentum and continuously push projects forward. Sincere desire to exceed customers’ expectations.
+ Ability to work under pressure and maintain a positive attitude.
+ Strong leadership skills and ability. Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
+ Comfortable presenting to and interacting with senior leadership and executives.
+ Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence others.
+ Demonstrated ability to form business inter-relationships with supporting managers, leaders, staff, and suppliers.
+ Decisive and prone to action. Must be quality-oriented and customer-focused.
+ Excellent project planning, organizing, and administrative skills.
**Working Conditions:**
+ Dynamic and fast-paced environment.
+ 15–20% travel throughout the year, both domestic and international.

**The starting pay range for Minnesota is $91,000 to $120,000 per year. Individual salaries and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. While individual pay could fall anywhere in the range based on these factors, it is not common to start at the high end or top of the range.**
