**The role you will contribute:**
The role of the Imaging Safety Officer is to lead and support safety culture and performance for all Imaging Services across AdventHealth facilities. This individual will facilitate Safety programs through standardization, strategy development, and safety governance in Imaging, Interventional Radiology (IR), Interventional Neuro Radiology (INR), and Radiation Oncology. This individual will ensure that organizational strategy around safe and reliable care is translated and executed to ensure a culture of safety and quality as an organization-wide imperative in both in-patient and ambulatory environments (50 hospitals and 26 outpatient imaging centers). This leader provides direct Imaging Safety oversight to AHMG Radiology, Central Florida Division and Corporate Radiology Governance. The Director will be seen as a leader in which they will provide mentorship as the embedded High Reliability expert. Specifically, High Reliability principles, just culture algorithm, human factors theory, performance improvement and the IHI framework. The Director will also coordinate/collaborate at all levels of leadership, including the C-suite, to facilitate enterprise-wide projects. This individual will report to the Executive Director of Safety and work in collaboration with the Radiology and Surgical / Procedural leadership and their respective downlines.

+ Provides leadership, development, and oversight of the Imaging Modality Managers and Safety promoters (by modality).
+ Responsible for oversight of the safety initiatives involving Imaging Services, IR, INR, and Radiation Oncology safety, in collaboration with Governance teams for all AdventHealth.
+ Integrates the strategies of reliable processes and continuous learning with structure to make safety the accepted way of doing business.
+ Recommends and/or facilitates performance improvement activities which focus on improving patient safety and high reliable performance.
+ Works collaboratively with all key stakeholders to identify and mitigate areas of high risk and develop prevention practices to improve patient, employee, physician, and visitor safety, through timely and successful implementation.
+ Assists in the development of and review of all policies related to Imaging, IR, INR & Radiation Oncology Safety. Develops, reviews, and maintains corporate policies and procedures related to the care of the patient having imaging or radiation oncology testing & procedures.
+ Oversees Executive Patient Safety Walk Rounds through analyses and reporting results at campus and system Governance.
+ Directly interfaces with physicians and senior leadership for alignment, assuring Radiology & Radiation Oncology services stability and growth
+ Collaborates with Education staff to design and guide safety education based on assessment and needs.
+ Nurtures a culture of accountability, where individuals are held to act in a safe and respectful manner, with training and support.
+ Develops a culture of teamwork and communication with share understanding, anticipation of needs and problems and methods to manage, as well as conflict situations.
+ Create a learning system that identifies defects and fixes them. Performing briefings/debriefings of self-reflection focused on proactivity, effectively applying improvement science
+ Under the general direction of the Chief Safety Officer and Executive Director of Safety, develop and implement the patient safety strategy with specific focus on quality and safety best practices in the industry.
+ Redesign processes within the IHI safety framework to support the highly reliable execution of new high priority quality and safety strategies throughout the system.
**The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:**
+ Bachelor's Degree of Quality, Safety or Healthcare related field.
+ 7 Years Work Experience.
+ Effective leadership skills, comfort with decision-making responsibilities, coaching, teaching, counseling skills; and the ability to motivate.
+ Working knowledge of quality and safety improvement strategies and methods including root cause determination and high reliability organization process improvement.
+ Ability to quickly develop relationships to persuade and negotiate in situations that are controversial/sensitive and result in authoritative decisions. With matters of importance recommendations are escalated to senior leaders.
+ Analytical ability to apply theories, principles, and practices of several disciplines for problem resolution: excellent problem-solving skills.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information in understandable terms to all levels of staff.
+ Proven competency and experience with executive level presentation skills.
+ Ability to create, build, and lead teams.
+ Strong organizational skills, with the ability to focus detailed and concentrated efforts to multiple projects and re-establish priorities as necessary.
+ Ability to effectively respond to time sensitive issues and meet deadlines.
+ Ability to work in a matrix-management environment to achieve organizational goals.
+ Expertise in error prevention theory and practice.
+ Expertise in process improvement and change management, which may include Lean, Six Sigma, etc.
+ Proficient computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office suite and working knowledge of Visio.
+ Experience launching new programs and complex strategies across business units.
+ Able to optimize existing resources to achieve economies of scales/synergy.
+ Business and strategic plan development.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Master's
+ Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS)
+ Certification in applicable field.
