Job DescriptionThe Program Management Office (PMO) of Visa Global Corporate Services (GCS) empowers our organization to deliver successful projects that are timely, on-budget, and aligned with the company’s business strategy through standardization, execution, evaluation, and innovation. Our team provides comprehensive program-and project-planning services to all Corporate Services functions (Real Estate, Facilities, and Security).
We are seeking a seasoned Director to lead the development and execution of portfolios and programs, managing and overseeing multiple projects within the GCS PMO. The successful candidate will possess a robust background in program and project management, with a proven track record of delivering multiple, complex, strategic projects on time and within budget. The individual will have exceptional leadership skills and the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration across Visa.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Portfolio Management
Develop and implement strategic plans for the company’s region- and outcome-specific portfolios, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and business needsOversee the management of capital projects from inception through completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standardsProvide leadership and oversight to cross-functional project teams, ensuring clear communication, collaboration, and alignment across all stakeholdersConduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential project challenges and ensure successful project outcomesMonitor and report on project performance, providing regular updates to senior leadership and other key stakeholdersEnsure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and company policies throughout the project lifecycleFoster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, to ensure alignment and support for project initiativesMentor and develop project management staff, building a high-performing team capable of delivering complex projects successfullyProgram Design & Innovation
Drive continuous improvement in project management practices through the adoption of industry best practices, innovative technologies, and process enhancementsIdentify and implement opportunities for process optimization, resource allocation, and operational efficiencyLeverage data analytics and performance metrics to provide insights and drive decision-making in project managementDevelop and maintain project management tools and systems to enhance project tracking, reporting, and overall efficiencySupplier and Vendor Management:
Establish and manage relationships with key suppliers and vendors, ensuring high-quality service delivery and cost-effective procurementCoordinate the selection and onboarding of project-related suppliers, including architects, engineers, contractors, and other service providersNegotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions that align with project objectives and budget constraintsThis is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
QualificationsBasic Qualifications:
At least 15 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, 10 years of experience with an advanced degreeProven track record of managing large-scale, multi-workstream projects with significant budgetsExperience with construction management, real estate portfolio management, and working across multiple regions or geographic contexts a plusStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsHigh ethical standards and a strong focus on doing what’s rightPreferred Qualifications:
At least 12 years of managing large multi-workstream, large-budget, public- or private-sector projects, especially with corporate real estate, infrastructure, or organizational designExperience with corporate or commercial design and construction a plusExtensive experience with planning, implementing, and operationalizing portfolio and program plans for global audiences at all levels, including the ability to work and manage across multiple time zonesDemonstrated experience with project implementation, program or product design, and/or business process improvement, with quantifiable victories or gained efficienciesExperience with vendor management, statements of work, and vendor onboardingDemonstrated learning agility with a variety of content areas and modalitiesDemonstrated interest in emerging methodologies and project praxis, such as lean or agile business practicesStrong understanding of complex business transactions, organizational finance planning, and procurementDesire to contribute thought leadership and partnership with a variety of internal and external stakeholdersAbility to operate collaboratively on a lean team focused on force multiplicationDemonstrated ability to solve complex, defined problems with creativity and flexibilityExperience with real estate, technology, or facilities clients a plus
Physical Requirements
This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment (phones and computers).
Travel Requirements
The incumbent may be required to travel domestically and internationally less than 10%.
