Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

Dateline is seeking a Program Coordinator to assist the Executive Producer of Dateline, and the show in all aspects of production of long-form content.

Responsibilities:

Manage the Executive Producer of Dateline's Outlook calendar by scheduling confidential meetings with high-level internal/external production executives, talent, and Dateline members; moving & rescheduling meetings accordinglyBook travel, create itineraries, and compile expense reports for the EP & other Dateline correspondentsProvide A/V support and book conference rooms for meetings and on-site shootsSupply catering for on-site eventsProvide other miscellaneous administrative support to such as fielding phone calls, project research, and keeping track of Dateline/NBC News Studios/Audio screeners Aid in long-form news/documentary production as needed 


PLEASE NOTE: This is a short-term position with an estimated duration of 24 months or less, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed.

QualificationsAt least 1 year of experience in news production or journalism (internships or freelance experience acceptable)Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related fieldWilling to commit to the role for a minimum of 2 yearsExcellent organization, detail-oriented prioritization, time management, and communication skills with excellent follow-throughMust be willing to work in New York, NY

Desired Characteristics:

Ability to multitask and handle competing prioritiesExcellent interpersonal skills with an ability to deal with all levels of managementStrong written and communication skillsSelf-starter, able to work independently and seek out answers, be resourcefulShooting and editing a plus

Additional Requirements:

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three to four days per week.


What we’ll offer: Production Employee (PEP) Regular who works more than 1,000 hours per measurement period:  

Eligible for 401K after 1,000 hours worked in 12 consecutive months  Eligible for Health and Welfare benefits on the 1st day of employment  Eligible to participate in Employee Stock Purchase Program after 90 days of employment 

Salary range: $18/hr - $24/hr
