Position Brand Description:
The major function of the Program and Data Lead position is to drive execution and continuously improvement of key business processes enabling delivery of our Digital Plant Strategy. This position will use leadership, technical expertise, and analytical skills to maintain a robust project portfolio, always ensuring alignment between business needs and value-added Digital Plant solutions. Specifically at the Branchburg site, this position will serve as the Program Manager, acting as a key enabler in the adoption of new and existing systems, progressing the site’s paperless manufacturing objective and Digital Plant Strategy. It will also partner cross-functionally in line with the Manufacturing Strategy for Operational Excellence (MSOE) to enable the Site mission and vision, ensuring IT deliverables are delivered on time and in accordance with applicable Lilly Quality Standards and Practices.
Key Objectives/Deliverables:
1. Bring leadership, technical knowledge, and portfolio management, knowledge of site manufacturing operations, current business challenges, and awareness of available IT platforms to ensure our IT project portfolio aligns with business needs.
2. Facilitation of portfolio planning activities to ensure ongoing stakeholder alignment on projects in scope, which will include deployment of new systems, as well as lifecycle management (LCM) of existing systems.
3. Facilitation of portfolio tracking and monitoring activities to enable integrated planning and to ensure proactive escalation of risk to schedule, cost, and resources.
4. Maintain both technical and business acumen specifically as it relates to Data solutions. Majority of the Digital Strategy portfolio solutions have an impact or direct tie to Data platforms, and a business need for downstream Data solutions (e.g. Dashboards, Reports, Query capabilities, Trending solutions, etc.).
5. Maintain strong partnership with all key stakeholders who are required to input into the portfolio, as well as support execution. This includes local and global business partners, as well as local and global IT teams.
6. Develop, deploy, and maintain robust capacity management processes to ensure plans are realistic, and to enable trade-off decisions when constraints arise.
7. Serve as the leader of assigned projects, ensuring robust project plans are established, and executed in an efficient and effective manner in partnership with business resources.
8. Ensure governance process is in place to evaluate new project requests, leveraging all required data (cost/benefit, required resources, available capacity, major milestones/proposed timing, etc.) to enable productive discussions and go/no go decisions.
9. Provide ongoing communication on portfolio issues, and major deliverables to management and staff.
10. Coach and mentor other team members (e.g. project leaders) on best practices and solutions.
11. Actively network with external sources to stay aware of initiatives going on around the industry and champion best practices across the industry.
12. Develop Data Analytics Strategy for site including the use of AI for Data trending and visualization.
13. Benchmark new capabilities and best practices both internally and externally to ensure robust data analytics platforms and capabilities are delivered to the site.
14. Perform Gemba walks to better understand business needs to help drive data analytics capabilities to foster improved decision making capabilities and continuous improvement.
15. Stay active and current in business technology trends, direction and innovation related to business process and technology areas with a focus on Data platforms.
16. Foster professional and inclusive behavior, invite new ideas and differing perspectives among the team members, assuring their on-going positive relationship to management and other members of the IDS organization. Inspire and recognize teamwork and ensure proper feedback to the group as needed.
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field or equivalent work experience.5+ years of experience working with technology platforms within a Manufacturing environment. 3+ years leading projects and/or teams. Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States; Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.Additional Preferences:

6. Experience with designing and developing specifications for new products/services, applications, and service offerings.
7. Experience with project management methodologies.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders and articulate technical concepts.
9. Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
10. Adaptability and flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
11. Experience with Computer System Validation.
12. Ability to take initiative, to be assertive, to lead by example and to build high-quality relationships.
13. Experience with managing technology delivery projects, from inception through delivery and post-production support, of manufacturing and quality information processes and systems in a regulated industry.
14. Experience with managing external (vendor, consultant) business partners.
15. Working knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations (e.g. cGMP’s, 21 CFR Part 11, Computers Systems FDA) and other applicable regulations (e.g. Privacy, OSHA, etc.) related to the areas supported.
Other Information:
Role is Monday through Friday and based on-site. Must be flexible in providing support to accommodate other inputs (production schedules, shutdowns, etc.). Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$135,000 - $198,000Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
