Job Title: Production II

Job Description

This position involves working in a dynamic production environment where tasks and job stations change daily. You will work with up to 20 different machines, rotating as needed to fulfill orders. The job includes repetitive tasks, such as operating machinery set up by the Charge Hand, and requires working in either the plastic or steel area of the shop. Duties include deburring steel, moving products, boxing production, and supporting welders.

Responsibilities

Operate machinery by placing racks in settings and stepping on a foot pedal.Perform crimping by feeding metal sheets into machines and stepping on the pedal to create bends.Set up angles on tube cutter machines and use a saw to cut metal pipes.Sand edges of metal tubes using a belt sander.Move parts from the welding station to prepare for shipment.Assist welders and move parts around the floor for further processing.Use power tools to clean machined parts.Count products accurately to ensure correct shipment quantities.Pull and stack small pieces of plastic off the machine for assembly.

Essential Skills

1+ years of experience in a production/manufacturing environment (metal/plastic/woodworking).Ability to use hand and power tools confidently.Maintain accurate counts of parts for shipments.Self-motivated and able to perform repetitive tasks efficiently.Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in a manufacturing environment to understand processes and safety procedures.Experience in construction, woodworking, or plastics industry.Forklift experience/certification is a plus.

Work Environment

You will work indoors in a closed environment with 35 employees on the shop floor, operating over 20 different machines. The facility is divided into metal and plastics departments, each with 15-20 staff members, including laborers, machine operators, and welders. The dress code requires long pants or shorts. The workplace offers stability, wage increases, transit accessibility, and a variety of job opportunities. Employees also receive a $150 annual allowance for clothing and boots.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Surrey, British Columbia.

The pay range for this position is $22.42 - $22.42/hr.
