Job Description

We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Production Workers for 2nd and 3rd shifts at our main facility. As a Production Worker, you will utilize hand tools and a tape measure to follow work instructions and assemble components of flooring and drop ceiling products. All lifting will be done as a team, although you should be comfortable lifting up to 35 lbs independently a few times per shift. Opportunities for machinery training are available upon hire.

Responsibilities

Learn and maintain a working knowledge of all equipment and machinery within the department.Position parts and monitor operations on equipment while producing products at established production standards.Make minor setups, including changing plate sizes, and setups for various sized tubes and studs.Inspect panels or parts to ensure specifications meet quality standards while maintaining production standards. Notify appropriate personnel of any issues.Complete production reporting and quality paperwork accurately as required.Use banding equipment and hand-jacks to ensure proper movement or storage of products or materials.Maintain good housekeeping and adhere to established safety procedures.Follow all policies, procedures, and work instructions, including Employee Handbook, SOPs, MOPs, JSAs, and Safety Manual.Maintain awareness of individual contributions to quality, safety, environmental, and product compliance policies. Report all quality issues, unsafe acts, and conditions to appropriate personnel.

Essential Skills

High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent experience.Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions.Ability to interface with a diverse workforce.Ability to lift up to 40 lbs repetitively unassisted for an 8-hour shift.Proficiency in using tools and measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measure, dial indicator, and feeler gauges.Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and crouch for an 8-hour shift.Capability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel machinery, equipment, or parts and work near moving mechanical parts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with hand tools, power tools, and machine operation is a plus.Familiarity with micrometers and calipers is advantageous.

Work Environment

The work environment consists of two facilities: Annex, which is very clean, modern, but loud, with about 15 employees working on the floor, and Main, an older, larger facility with 40-60 employees per shift, also loud. The dress code requires long pants, no sweatpants, short sleeves or longer, and steel toe shoes with metatarsal guards. Shifts run as follows: 1st Shift 6 a.m. to 2:20 p.m., 2nd Shift 2 p.m. to 10:20 p.m., 3rd Shift 10 p.m. to 6:20 a.m., with 1-2 hours of overtime per day.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.75 - $19.35/hr.
