Airswift is seeking a highly skilled Compression Technician to join one of our leading clients in the oil and gas industry. This full-time field-based role is located in the Mentone Wolfcamp production area, with man camp accommodations available if required. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the reliable operation and maintenance of critical compression equipment that supports production operations.

Position OverviewThe Compression Technician will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide range of compression and mechanical systems. This role requires strong technical knowledge, field experience, and the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with various production and vendor teams to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform routine and preventative maintenance on compressors, pumps, and associated mechanical systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues to ensure minimal disruption to production operations.
Collaborate with production teams to align equipment performance with operational targets.
Support the installation and commissioning of new compression units and auxiliary equipment.
Conduct regular equipment inspections to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.
Coordinate with field vendors and contractors to ensure quality and timely service delivery.
Skills & QualificationsRequired:
5+ years of hands-on experience with compression systems, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
Strong mechanical aptitude, with the ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and manuals.
Proven troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with internal teams and third-party vendors in the field.
Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality control, and environmental compliance.
Flexibility to work in a 7/7 rotational schedule with 12-hour shifts, including partial Wednesdays.
Preferred:
Prior field experience in high-output production areas or multi-well operations.
Exposure to remote or camp-based work environments.
Schedule Details7/7 Rotation:
12-hour shifts Thursday through Tuesday.
6-hour shifts on the first and last Wednesday of the rotation.
This work week runs Sunday to Saturday, with scheduled breaks between rotations.
